Some great points made Kyle, in particular the points about concentrating on the most effective top 20% as well as the points regarding email and TV. Mate, the video is a great form of communication went well and helps to reinforce the points. Yes, I will have to turn outlook off as it is a big distraction and while I am at it Fox Sports.
Although I am only doing this on a part time basis, I still think I could save about 80hrs/mth and that is time I waste chasing the latest product, emails and forums.

Hey Kyle..again a great post…cool video this time. I just sent an email to my readers touching on a few similar points to save time. I’m gonna have to try to do that 1 hour before checking my emails…like you suggest.

Cheers mate,

Welll Kyle … I was so busy in my busy-ness that I almost didn’t take the time to watch this – lol. Fwiw -I’m a vote for print most of the time, but this narrow focused video/power point version is doable and I will watch again.

You know what I’ve always had trouble with? Even recognizing what the non-essential activity might look like – and I bet that’s true for so many people … Some is obvious (though now that you mention it even my “little” tv time is probably costing me :-/) – some stuff is so ingrained. Habitual. PART of who we are.

So maybe a talk about what ‘exactly’ are the kinds of things that people do that are not ‘needed’ and more of the kinds of things that can be outsourced (and then how to do that) would be appreciated? I know it would help me to take hold of the organizational challenges I face.

Appreciate you,
Andrea
(you picked me up off of Twiiter btw – grin)

Great feedback Andrea, thanks.

I think non-essential activities and high-value activities are context dependent — they’re different for everyone depending on such things as your business model, resources (financial, human, time), skill set, what works for you etc.

For me, high-value activities are things such as copywriting, consulting, setting up joint ventures, strategic planning, curriculum design and presentation delivery. These are things I excel at and are key to my business. And as long as I’m doing them within the context of my business model they are EXTREMELY high value.

Non-essential activities are things like writing articles, doing link building, submitting videos, posting on forums (a bad habit of mine!), technical support… all those things that need to get done but that can be outsourced for much less than my time is worth.

Anyway, I’ll make the next issue about outsourcing and go into this stuff in more detail — it’s a great topic and one few entrepreneurs really “get”.

Cheers
Kyle

Thanks for this short yet powerful video, Kyle.

Too much time I’ve wasted on checking email,
Too much time I’ve wasted going to WarriorForum,
Too much time I’ve wasted thinking and doing nothing,
Too much time I’ve wasted on entertainments,
and at the end of the day… my productivity is nil, zero, nada

You’ve changed my perspective on doing things…
I would from this day onwards, manage my time effectively….

Again, thanks for this life changing video…

Mohd

Hi Kyle,
Not sure if it is a problem at my end or your end but after 53 secs the video stopped loading and won’t play again. Will have to check this out later as I still have to go to work – but not for long!

Hi Anne

I’m afraid the problem might be on your end — I’m streaming direct from EZS3 and they’re usually pretty solid. Let me know if the problem persists.

Thanks
Kyle
