<p>Today I started the first 1-on-1 coaching calls for my new <a href="http://www.kyletully.com/coaching" target="_blank">Inner Circle Mastermind</a> members.</p>
<p>Been a lot of fun and we&#8217;re already seeing breakthroughs.</p>

<p>Anyway, right now I want to share with you the first piece of the puzzle you need to become successful online.</p>
<p>Mastering this &#8220;success secret&#8221; has made a MASSIVE impact on my business. It&#8217;s been instrumental in the results of <em>every</em> super-successful person I&#8217;ve ever met. And it has the power to make an <span style="text-decoration: underline;">instant</span> impact on your own cash-flow.</p>
<p>Wanna know what it is?</p>
<p><em><strong>Speed of Implementation</strong></em></p>
<p>So what does that mean? It&#8217;s real simple&#8230;</p>
<p>In <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/tlb" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='the lost blueprint';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">The Lost Blueprint</a> I wrote the following:</p>
<blockquote><p>The faster you go from <em>learning</em> about something to <span style="text-decoration: underline;">implementing</span> it in your business, the faster and easier you will make money.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>That&#8217;s all there is to it &#8212; learn something then immediately take action.</p>
<p>Of course, it&#8217;s easier said than done. There are a million reasons why you can&#8217;t take action just yet&#8230; you&#8217;ve never done it before, aren&#8217;t qualified, don&#8217;t know everything&#8230;</p>
<p>Guess what? You&#8217;ve never done it till you&#8217;ve done it. You&#8217;re never qualified till you&#8217;ve done it. And you&#8217;ll never know <em>anything</em> until you&#8217;ve done it.</p>
<p><strong>So in the words of Nike&#8230;</strong> <em>Just Do It! </em></p>
<p>You&#8217;ll learn more (and make a hell of a lot more money) implementing an idea badly than you ever will intellectualizing to perfection.</p>
<p>And you can always improve something once you&#8217;ve started. (You&#8217;ll often find you did a good enough job the first time, never touch it again and begin to wonder what you were so worried about.)</p>
<p>Remember: Excuses don&#8217;t make cash. Everything can be improved. And money likes speed.</p>

<p>One thing that came out of my <a title="Internet Marketing Survey Results" href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/internet-marketing-survey-results.html">Internet Marketing Survey Results</a> was people at all levels are overwhelmed in one way or another.</p>
<p>Content creation, customer service, traffic generation, technical wizardry&#8230;  there&#8217;s just so much <em>stuff</em> to do to keep your business going that it&#8217;s very easy to let things things slip.</p>
<p>Of course I&#8217;ve been through similar struggles to many of you, and that&#8217;s why the best thing I did in my business this year was to start outsourcing <span style="text-decoration: underline;">properly</span> &#8212; not just hiring people for one-off tasks, but as full time employees who work 100% on MY business.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve just put on my second full-time employee from the Philippines and thought I&#8217;d share a few things I&#8217;ve learned along the way.</p>
<p>First, if you&#8217;re making even a small profit and are not outsourcing you don&#8217;t know what you&#8217;re missing!</p>
<p>There are a billion things to do in this business and many of them are relatively boring, repetitive tasks that you &#8212; the company owner &#8212; really shouldn&#8217;t be doing.</p>
<p><strong>You should be spending your time on high value activities.</strong></p>
<p>E.g. In my business I focus my time on developing relationships, copywriting, content/curriculum/sales process design, strategic planning, presentation delivery, consulting&#8230; and not much else.</p>
<p>(Frankly even that is too much, but I&#8217;m working on handing off some of these tasks as well.)</p>
<p>You can hire full-time employees from the Philippines for about $200 &#8211; $400 a month &#8212; I&#8217;m paying $350 for my latest recruit and she has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (more educated than me!) and speaks/writes English like a native.</p>
<p><strong>Why the Philippines? </strong></p>
<p>They have a culture of working hard and being honorable, they are very well educated and most speak decent if not good English, and apparently they don&#8217;t have credit cards, so it&#8217;s difficult for them to rip you off even if they wanted to.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve hired from <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/od" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='odesk';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">oDesk</a> and BestJobs.ph and I MUCH prefer who I found on BJ &#8212; they tend to have better skill sets, better experience, and better rates.</p>
<p>(I don&#8217;t think you can sign up directly at BestJobs.ph, I got in there through my subscription to <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/rm" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='replacemyself';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">ReplaceMyself</a> &#8212; make sure you check out the free audio on the homepage because it gives away a lot of great outsourcing info.)</p>
<p>Some of the things I&#8217;m outsourcing include:</p>
<p><strong>C</strong><strong>ontent Creation</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Article writing, “spinning” and distribution</li>
<li>Ebook writing</li>
<li>Info product creation</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Website Traffic Generation</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Article distribution and posting</li>
<li>Forum posting</li>
<li>Blog commenting</li>
<li>Building back links</li>
<li>Search engine optimization</li>
<li>Pay per click campaign management</li>
<li>Video marketing</li>
<li>Social networking</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Website Installation &amp; Maintenance</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Installing WordPress blogs</li>
<li>Keeping WordPress blogs and associated plugins up to date</li>
<li>Moderating blog comments</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Customer Service</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Monitoring &amp; responding to customer service enquiries via email</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Research</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Using Google, Market Samurai and other software programs.</li>
</ul>
<p>(Some of these are in full-swing and others I&#8217;m taking baby steps and slowly handing things off.)</p>
<p><strong>A couple of tips:</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. </strong>In most cases you want to hire people based heavily on their English skills. You can teach anyone how to do specific tasks, but teaching English is a LOT harder.</p>
<p><strong>2.</strong> Hire slow, fire fast. Contact at least 3 different people before you hire anyone. Pit them against each other with a moderately difficult task and see who does the best job. And don&#8217;t be afraid to fire someone quickly if they&#8217;re not fitting in.</p>
<p><strong>3.</strong> Hire full-time rather than part-time if you can. You want them working only for you and focusing ALL their time on your business. You want everything you teach them benefiting YOU.</p>
<p><strong>4.</strong> Don&#8217;t expect them to know everything you know. You will have to train them. I&#8217;m using a combination of the training materials John gives you as a member of <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/rm" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='replacemyself';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">ReplaceMyself</a> and my own stuff.</p>
<p>This is a blessing in disguise because it forces you to systemise, document and streamline your own processes. I bet you&#8217;d be surprised how much in your business is done completely haphazardly, I know I was!</p>
<p>First time is a pain but once it&#8217;s done, it&#8217;s done. You can then get other people up to speed very quickly.</p>
<p><strong>5.</strong> I use <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/da" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/da';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">DeskAway</a> to manage my team. I think it&#8217;s free for up to 5 users. I have all my projects and associated training setup in here so getting a new employee up and running involves little more than giving them access to <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/da" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/da';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">DeskAway</a> and assigning a project to them.</p>
<p>As my recent IM survey showed, it&#8217;s very easy to become overwhelmed with all the &#8220;stuff&#8221; you have to do in your business, so look to outsource sooner rather than later.</p>

<p>Hey there, it&#8217;s been a few weeks since the last issue and as<br />
you may have noticed, a LOT has changed&#8230;</p>
<p>We&#8217;ve got a new website, new newsletter format and a new<br />
publishing schedule &#8212; all designed so you can consume each<br />

<p>OK let&#8217;s get started&#8230;</p>
<p>Last issue we were talking about the &#8220;big picture&#8221; things you<br />
can do to overcome procrastination &#8212; having a clear vision,<br />
building your confidence, and focusing on your core strengths.</p>
<p>Today I want to share some easy, practical, every day things<br />
you can do to help keep you focused.</p>
<p><span id="more-31"></span></p>
<h2><strong>How to Overcome Procrastination &#8211; Day-to-Day Tips</strong></h2>
<p><strong>1. Install RescueTime &#8211; http://www.rescuetime.com/ </strong></p>
<p>RescueTime &#8212; a free software app for Windows and Mac &#8212; monitors<br />
which applications and websites you use.</p>
<p>At the end of the week it will give you a report showing your<br />
efficiency, the average user&#8217;s efficiency, how many goals you<br />
reached, and which sites/apps you spent the most time on.</p>
<p>Just knowing you&#8217;re being &#8220;watched&#8221; is a good motivator to focus<br />
on productive activities &#8212; and the weekly score gives you a<br />
target to aim for, each week trying to beat your score from<br />
the previous week.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s an eye-opener to see the first week&#8217;s report and realize<br />
how much time you really waste on things like email, forums and<br />
instant messaging&#8230; sometime that&#8217;s all the &#8220;push&#8221; you need to<br />
regain your focus.</p>
<p><strong>2. Plan Your Day</strong></p>
<p>When it&#8217;s work time, you need to be working, not thinking about<br />
what to do.</p>
<p>(Separating work time and planning time is one of the keys to<br />
peak productivity. And I&#8217;ve personally found the &#8220;need&#8221; to plan<br />
one of my own procrastination triggers. The more you can separate<br />
these activities the better.)</p>
<p>Each night I&#8217;ll write down 3-5 things I want to accomplish the<br />
next day &#8212; these are my high-value activities for the day.</p>
<p>My ONLY goal for that day is to cross off each of those items.</p>
<p>Anything else that pops up &#8212; support issues, new opportunities, small fires etc &#8212; gets noted down and dealt with only after<br />
my daily tasks are completed.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a great feeling to cross off each item, and while 3-5 things<br />
a day might not sound a lot you&#8217;re talking about well over 1000<br />
high-value activities completed each year!</p>
<p><strong>3. Use a Timer</strong></p>
<p>This is a tip I picked up from the legendary copywriter Eugene<br />
Schwartz. It&#8217;s had by far the biggest impact on my productivity<br />
than anything else I&#8217;ve ever tried.</p>
<p>Eugene used to set a timer for 33:33, and during that time the<br />
only thing he allowed himself to do was write.</p>
<p>No checking email&#8230; no getting a cup of coffee&#8230; no tidying<br />
the desk&#8230; nothing but writing.</p>
<p>He would do just 4 of these 33:33 sessions each day.</p>
<p>And he got more done each day, in a little over 2 hours, than<br />
most people did in an entire 8 hour day.</p>
<p>I like to set my timer for 45 minutes and and will do one<br />
&#8220;session&#8221; for each of my 3-5 daily activities. It&#8217;s usually more<br />
than enough time to make significant progress each day.</p>
<p><strong>4. Unplug the Internet</strong></p>
<p>Seriously, unplug the Internet!</p>
<p>Forums, email, youtube, instant messaging&#8230; they&#8217;re all<br />
just a click away and unless you have amazing self-control<br />
they&#8217;re almost impossible to ignore for any length of time.</p>
<p>Every time your brain is faced with an even slightly difficult<br />
task it quickly looks for something easier to deal with &#8212; and<br />
the Internet is like a playground for your brain&#8230; everything<br />
is fun and there are few challenges.</p>
<p>Unplug the Internet during your peak performance times to<br />
completely eliminate it as an option.</p>
<p><strong>5. Develop New Habits</strong></p>
<p>If procrastination has become a habit then you simply need to<br />
replace it with a new and more productive habit.</p>
<p>How do you do this?</p>
<p>First you need to identify those times when you procrastinate &#8211;<br />
catch yourself in the act and figure out what the &#8220;trigger&#8221; was.</p>
<p>What was the task you were about to do?</p>
<p>What was the decision you had to make?</p>
<p>What was it that caused you anxiety?</p>
<p>Note the trigger down.</p>
<p>Note it down each time it happens.</p>
<p>(The more aware you become of what triggers you to procrastinate,<br />
the easier you&#8217;ll find it is to break the habit.)</p>
<p>When you catch yourself about to procrastinate, start<br />
disciplining yourself.</p>
<p>Get back to basics and focus on making small consistent<br />
incremental improvements, right away&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; set a timer and don&#8217;t get up until you&#8217;ve completed one of<br />
your daily tasks&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; re-read your goals and get inspired &#8212; remember why you&#8217;re<br />
doing this and what&#8217;s at stake&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; reward yourself if you can immediately focus on the task at<br />
hand.</p>
<p>Each time you do this you re-enforce good habits.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t focus on trying to be productive.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t focus on trying to avoid procrastination.</p>
<p>Just focus on developing GOOD new habits.</p>
<p>They will naturally replace the bad habits and you&#8217;ll<br />
automatically become more productive.</p>
<p>Now, by themselves, each of these tips might only be a small step<br />
towards overcoming procrastination and becoming super-productive.</p>
<p>But if you use them together &#8212; and do it consistently &#8212; I<br />
guarantee the combined effect will have a dramatic impact on<br />
your business.</p>

<p>First up I want to say I&#8217;m a terrible procrastinator.</p>
<p>(You know you&#8217;re in trouble when you&#8217;re procrastinating on<br /> writing an article about overcoming procrastination!)</p>
<p>Without the tactics I&#8217;m about to reveal to you my work hours<br /> are quickly consumed with reading books, browsing forums,<br /> playing Mario Kart, and watching the NHL.</p>
<p>Which is all good fun, but it sure doesn&#8217;t bring in any money.</p>
<p><span id="more-28"></span></p>
<p>Fact is, procrastination effects all of us.</p>
<p>Some people more than others.</p>
<p>Some days worse than others.</p>
<p>But no one is 100% focused on their most high-value activities<br /> 100% of the time. It&#8217;s impossible.</p>
<p>And frankly I&#8217;m not entirely sure you can completely eliminate<br /> procrastination.</p>
<p>I know I haven&#8217;t.</p>
<p>But the good news is procrastination is largely habitual &#8212; you<br /> either have good habits or bad habits which CAN be changed.</p>
<p>And by using a combination of big picture ideas and practical<br /> day-to-day processes I have learned to dramatically reduce my<br /> procrastination habits and become rather productive despite<br /> myself.</p>
<p>This week I&#8217;m going to talk about the big picture stuff, because<br /> if you don&#8217;t get it right then nothing else matters, and next<br /> week I&#8217;ll share my practical day-to-day tips.</p>
<p><strong>HOW TO OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION &#8211; THE BIG PICTURE</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. HAVE A CLEAR VISION</strong></p>
<p>What&#8217;s the &#8220;big idea&#8221; that drives your business?</p>
<p>Why do you get up in the morning?</p>
<p>What are you going to achieve?</p>
<p>The clearer your vision of what you are doing and why you are<br /> doing it, the easier you&#8217;ll find it to stay focused for extended<br /> periods of time.</p>
<p>(The overriding vision for my business is to help entrepreneurs<br /> and small business owners realize their full potential, make more<br /> money in less time, and live the &#8220;Internet lifestyle&#8221;. THAT gets<br /> me excited!)</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re just chasing some vague dream of &#8220;making money&#8221; then<br /> it&#8217;s easy to put a task off for an hour&#8230; then a day&#8230;<br /> before you know it weeks have passed and you still haven&#8217;t<br /> gotten any real work done.</p>
<p>Why? Because if you&#8217;re not excited about what you do and where<br /> you&#8217;re heading then you can easily rationalize an excuse to<br /> put tasks off until tomorrow&#8230; and tomorrow never comes.</p>
<p>In my <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/ct" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='consulting tycoon';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">Consulting Tycoon</a> coaching program one of the first things<br /> I get people to do is complete a 1-page business plan. And the<br /> first step in the plan is to create the vision for your business.</p>
<p>Who will you serve? What will you offer? Why do you exist?</p>
<p>(This simple exercise is powerful &#8212; one student credits it as<br /> one of the key drivers in him making $45,000 in the first 3<br /> months of this year&#8230; right in the middle of the recession.)</p>
<p>Right now, create a vision for your own business that inspires<br /> you. It will be one of the most valuable exercises you ever do.</p>
<p><strong>2. BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE</strong></p>
<p>Do you know what you&#8217;re doing?</p>
<p>What if you mess up and get it wrong?</p>
<p>How confident are you?</p>
<p>According to Wikipedia, &#8220;procrastination is a mechanism for<br /> coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing<br /> any task or decision.&#8221;</p>
<p>This anxiety has many sources, but from my experience a lack<br /> of confidence is one of the main ones &#8212; you rarely feel<br /> anxious about something you&#8217;re confident with, do you?</p>
<p>And considering how big the learning curve is in IM there is<br /> ALWAYS something we&#8217;re not confident with.</p>
<p>It could be a new skill you&#8217;ve just learned, not knowing if<br /> you&#8217;re &#8220;doing it right&#8221;, or just the thought of putting your<br /> stuff &#8220;out there&#8221; and facing the possibility of criticism.</p>
<p>Whatever it is, if you don&#8217;t build your confidence and learn<br /> to manage this anxiety you will always resort to procrastination<br /> instead of getting productive work done.</p>
<p>The tricky part is you have to build your confidence in things<br /> you don&#8217;t have experience with&#8230; your confidence must come<br /> from a place deep inside you, not just from experience.</p>
<p>(If you relied solely on gaining confidence from experience<br /> it would take a lifetime to become confident in everything<br /> there is to learn about Internet marketing.)</p>
<p>If you think your confidence levels may be causing you to<br /> procrastinate then I highly recommend Kent Sayre&#8217;s book<br /> &#8220;<a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/uc" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='unstoppable confidence';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">Unstoppable Confidence</a>&#8220;.</p>
<p><strong>3. FOCUS ON YOUR CORE STRENGTHS</strong></p>
<p>What are the highest value activities you do in your business<br /> that you enjoy doing?</p>
<p>It could be seeking out joint ventures&#8230; creating top-notch<br /> websites and autoresponders&#8230; getting first-page search engine<br /> rankings for your clients&#8230; striking up conversations (and<br /> deals) with business owners&#8230; writing copy&#8230; or just about<br /> anything else.</p>
<p>(Mine are strategic planning, copywriting, curriculum design,<br /> and presentation delivery.)</p>
<p>Whatever yours are, focus at least 80% of your time on them!</p>
<p>Not only will this help you avoid procrastinating (you don&#8217;t<br /> put off tasks you actually enjoy doing) but it&#8217;s a much more<br /> valuable use of your time.</p>
<p>e.g. I think it&#8217;s crazy that people will agonize for weeks<br /> trying to learn graphic design, just to create a simple header<br /> graphic for their website, when you can outsource that task<br /> for less than $100 and focus on high value activities (such as<br /> creating joint ventures) that actually make you money.</p>
<p>Besides, this is your business and it should be fun! There&#8217;s not<br /> enough time in the world to be wasting it on activities you<br /> don&#8217;t enjoy.</p>
<p>Work on implementing these three ideas into your business and<br /> you should start to notice procrastination becoming less of an<br /> issue for you.</p>
<p>Next week I&#8217;ll share with you some of the practical things I do<br /> every single day to make me about as productive as I think I can<br /> be.</p>

<p>3 EASY INFO PRODUCTS YOU CAN CREATE TODAY</p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve never created an info product before, the best advice<br /> I can give you is keep it simple!</p>
<p>It&#8217;s tempting to try and tackle a big project right out of the<br /> gate &#8212; like a home study course, full-blown membership site, or<br /> 100+ page ebook.</p>
<p>After all, that&#8217;s how all the &#8220;gurus&#8221; make money, right?</p>
<p><span id="more-24"></span></p>
<p>What you don&#8217;t realize is how much time and effort goes into<br /> these kinds of products. Even a product creation expert can<br /> spend weeks (even months) developing a high-ticket product.</p>
<p>When you&#8217;re just getting started &#8212; when EVERYTHING you do has<br /> a steep learning curve &#8212; that timeframe can easily blow out&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; weeks turn into months and months turn into years.</p>
<p>And even then there is no guarantee you&#8217;ll sell a single copy.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t make things harder than they need to be.</p>
<p>For your first product, aim for something you can create in a<br /> day or two&#8230; a week tops.</p>
<p>Focus on a getting a quick win.</p>
<p>The experience and confidence you gain &#8212; not to mention the<br /> list of paying customers &#8212; will be worth more than you can<br /> imagine.</p>
<p>Here are 3 of my favorite easy info products:</p>
<p>AUDIO INTERVIEW</p>
<p>This is probably the fastest and easiest product you can create.</p>
<p>Grab an expert in your niche, get them on the phone for an hour<br /> and ask them all the questions your niche wants to know.</p>
<p>(I use my <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/it" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='instant teleseminar';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">Instant Teleseminar</a> account to record interviews, but<br /> you can also use Skype with the Pamela plugin if you&#8217;re on a<br /> budget and don&#8217;t mind average quality audio.)</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t need to be an expert, don&#8217;t need to create the content,<br /> and can have a product completed in a few hours.</p>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve got the recording you can sell it as an MP3 download,<br /> use a service such as Kunaki to sell it as a physical CD, get<br /> it transcribed and sell it as an ebook.</p>
<p>You could even use it as an opt-in incentive and market your<br /> expert&#8217;s high-ticket products on the back end <img src='http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>One question I get asked quite often is, &#8220;do people actually buy &#8216;interview&#8217; products?&#8221;</p>
<p>Check this out&#8230;</p>
<p>A brand new product, in a market far removed from the<br /> &#8220;make money&#8221; niche.</p>
<p>No list. No partners. No “launch”.</p>
<p>$27,000 in 4 days.</p>
<p>Impressive?</p>
<p>You bet!</p>
<p>Did I mention that’s a monthly recurring income stream?</p>
<p>There is serious money to be made with simple interview products,<br /> it all comes down to how they&#8217;re positioned and marketed.</p>
<p>PRODUCT PIGGYBACK</p>
<p>Here you take an existing product that&#8217;s selling well and create<br /> a complimentary product you can sell to the same market.</p>
<p>For example:</p>
<p>One marketer I know got her start in Internet marketing by<br /> creating a WordPress tutorial ebook. She went full-time<br /> within a few months of releasing it.</p>
<p>Another got his start with <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/xsp" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='xsitepro';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">XSitePro</a> templates and was doing<br /> $1,000&#8242;s per DAY right from day one.</p>
<p>Yet another made more than $30,000 with a WordPress plugin in<br /> his first 2 months.</p>
<p>And a product I created that piggybacked on a hot trend has now<br /> turned into an entire 6-figure business all on it&#8217;s own.</p>
<p>You can create products that help users get more from the<br /> original product, like a &#8220;how to&#8221; guide or instruction manual.</p>
<p>You can create products that extend the original product, such<br /> as tools, templates and plugins.</p>
<p>The beauty of creating a product this way is you KNOW the market<br /> exists &#8212; you know there are buyers out there, you know exactly<br /> where they &#8220;hang out&#8221; online.</p>
<p>And you don&#8217;t need to be particularly original or creative<br /> to create these kinds of products. It doesn&#8217;t take a genius to<br /> create a &#8220;how to&#8221; guide for an existing product &#8212; you just<br /> go through the product/software one step at a time and note<br /> down what you do as you do it.</p>
<p>The other great thing about these kinds of products is the more<br /> popular the original product becomes, the more popular your<br /> product becomes!</p>
<p>They&#8217;re doing all the hard work of marketing and you get to ride<br /> their coattails.</p>
<p>TELESEMINAR</p>
<p>Teleseminars are fast becoming one of my favorite product<br /> creation strategies.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re super-fast to setup&#8230; have a high perceived value&#8230;<br /> can be transcribed, sold as MP3&#8242;s or as physical products&#8230;<br /> and are perfect for teaching and coaching.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re also a lot of fun once you get over the butterflies!</p>
<p>You can get an expert in your niche and do a live Q &amp; A, you<br /> can teach your own material, conduct an interactive coaching<br /> class or simply talk about things your niche are interested in.</p>
<p>You can make money selling access to the original teleseminar,</p>
<p>then package and sell access to the recordings &amp; transcripts.</p>
<p>You can even do free teleseminars and then sell affiliate<br /> products on the call!</p>
<p>(And if you&#8217;re nervous about doing a &#8220;live&#8221; call you can simply<br /> pre-record the call with ONLY you on the line, although<br /> personally I get my best material out when there&#8217;s the extra pressure of a few people listening in!)</p>

<p>You might have noticed there was no issue last Tuesday.</p>
<p>I spent the entire week preparing for a lawsuit against my old<br /> financial adviser &#8212; been neck-deep in documents, papers and<br /> never ending legal forms.</p>
<p>To cut a long story short&#8230; they made stupid mistakes, sued the<br /> wrong company (one of their creditors), lost, and went<br /> bankrupt&#8230; taking millions of investor money with them.</p>
<p>I lost tens of thousands.</p>
<p>And I was one of the lucky ones.</p>
<p>Other people are losing their houses.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m young. I can rebuild. But these folks&#8230; some of them are<br /> already retired. They have no income. Soon they won&#8217;t have a<br /> home.</p>
<p>The lesson?</p>
<p><span id="more-18"></span></p>
<p>Be very careful taking on debt. Play nice with your creditors.<br /> Don&#8217;t risk what you can&#8217;t afford to lose.</p>
<p>Anyway, enough about me. Let&#8217;s talk about you.</p>
<p>Last issue we talked about creating info products.</p>
<p>Specifically, using the &#8220;<a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/48hour" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='instant product creation system';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">Instant Product Creation System</a>&#8221; to crank out high-quality products in record time.</p>
<p>Which is great if you already have a topic for your product.</p>
<p>But what if don&#8217;t have the foggiest idea about what to create?</p>
<p>How do you come up with an idea for a product?</p>
<p>Let me show you how I do it&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>HOW TO GET UNLIMITED PRODUCT IDEAS</strong></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s something you might not know:</p>
<p>Not every product you create is going to be a winner.</p>
<p>In fact, probably only 1 in 10 will be a runaway success.</p>
<p>Another 3 in 10 will make money, but they won&#8217;t make you rich.</p>
<p>And the other 6? A few will break even, a few will lose money or<br /> take more time to create than they are worth.</p>
<p>These aren&#8217;t hard and fast numbers. Some people seem to have the<br /> midas touch and couldn&#8217;t make a dud if they tried. But most of<br /> us will see numbers similar to above.</p>
<p>So it stands to reason, the more products you create, the better<br /> your chances of finding that 1 in 10 product that will make<br /> you millions.</p>
<p>And the more products you create, the more front end customers<br /> you get, the more back end sales you make, the more affiliates<br /> you attract&#8230; until you&#8217;ve got so much momentum that nothing<br /> can stop you.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why the ability to come up with lots of products and<br /> create them FAST is such a valuable skill.</p>
<p>Now let&#8217;s take all the guesswork and creativity out of the<br /> picture and make everything step-by-step with a simple system<br /> you can follow.</p>
<p><strong>1. YOUR LIST</strong></p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve got a list, survey them. There is no better way to find<br /> out what product to create than to ask the people who are going<br /> to buy it what they want.</p>
<p>You can get a free 100-response survey from SurveyMonkey.com.</p>
<p>The trick is NOT to ask what product they want, but to ask what<br /> problems they are having. Create a product that solves an urgent<br /> problem and it will sell itself.</p>
<p><strong>2. FORUMS</strong></p>
<p>People love to complain. And what better place than forums!</p>
<p>Check out these two resources to find forums in your niche:</p>
<p>http://www.theforumfinder.org/<br /> http://directory.big-boards.com/</p>
<p>Or just type &#8220;YOUR NICHE + forum&#8221; into Google.</p>
<p>The good news is complaints are often about problems people are<br /> having. Look for problems that come up often or that many people<br /> seem to be having.</p>
<p>Can you create a product that solves those problems?</p>
<p>Often it&#8217;s VERY simple to model your own product on an existing<br /> one then simply &#8220;fix&#8221; whatever people were complaining about.</p>
<p>Most problems people are complaining about can be solved very<br /> easily with a few minutes on Google.</p>
<p>But here&#8217;s the thing: most people are REALLY BAD at using Google.</p>
<p>If it doesn&#8217;t come up on the first page for the most obvious<br /> search term then they can&#8217;t find it. You can take an hour or<br /> two to research a topic other people are either too lazy or<br /> incompetent to research and create a product that hands the<br /> solution to them.</p>
<p><strong>3. TWEAK A PROVEN SELLER</strong></p>
<p>Check out the best seller lists on Amazon, eBay, Paypal etc.</p>
<p>Look at what is already selling and think about how you can<br /> put your own unique twist on it.</p>
<p>Here are a few idea-generators to get you thinking:</p>
<p>Sub-Niche, Rename, Offer, Bonus, Expand, Contract, Combine,<br /> Split, Format, Language, Delivery, Structure, Compliment, Oppose,<br /> Sequel, Prequel</p>
<p>Each of those represents a way you can tweak an existing proven<br /> seller and make it your own.</p>
<p>For example, do you remember &#8220;The Secret&#8221;?</p>
<p>It was a  HUGE huge success.</p>
<p>Search for &#8220;The Secret&#8221; on Amazon and look at how Rhonda Byrne<br /> tweaked the original idea to generate half a dozen other<br /> products.</p>
<p>There is&#8230;</p>
<p>The Secret<br /> The Secret (Extended Edition)<br /> The Secret Daily Teachings<br /> The Secret Gratitude Book<br /> The Secret Soundtrack<br /> El Secreto (The Secret) (Spanish Edition)</p>
<p>Then other people jumped on the &#8220;Law of attraction&#8221; bandwagon<br /> and came out with products such as:</p>
<ul>
<li>Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You<br /> Want and Less of What You Don&#8217;t</li>
<li>The Soulmate Secret: Manifest the Love of Your Life with the Law of Attraction</li>
<li>The Secret Diary: A Personal Workbook for Achieving Health, Wealth and Happiness</li>
</ul>
<p>All of these leverage the initial success of &#8220;The Secret&#8221;.</p>
<p><strong>4. USE IDEA TEMPLATES</strong></p>
<p>As a copywriter I have an extensive swipe file of proven<br /> ads &#8212; including headlines, openings, guarantees, offers etc &#8211;<br /> I can use to get my creative juices flowing.</p>
<p>(I highly suggest you start building a swipe file if you have<br /> not already &#8212; more on this in future issues.)</p>
<p>As a product creator I have a swipe file of product names,<br /> article / report titles, and other templates I can use to<br /> quickly generate dozens of product ideas.</p>
<p>For example:</p>
<ul>
<li>5 Easy Ways to _______</li>
<li>10 Things to Avoid When _______</li>
<li>The 7 Most Important _______ For _______</li>
<li>How _______ Can Get Twice As Much Done In Half the Time</li>
<li>51 Costly Mistakes New _______ Make</li>
</ul>
<p>Then you simply plug in your niche/topic and away you go.</p>
<p>Follow these 4 steps and coming up with ideas for your next<br /> product won&#8217;t be an issue anymore. In fact, you&#8217;ll likely<br /> have a new problem &#8212; deciding which idea to go with.</p>
<p>My suggestion &#8212; go with your gut and make the decision fast.</p>
<p>Let the market tell you which ideas are good and which are not.</p>

<p>Allow me to predict your future&#8230;</p>
<p>You are going to fail.</p>
<p>Yes, YOU, reading this right now, are going to fail.</p>
<p>Maybe you&#8217;ll pour blood sweat and tears into a product and<br /> no one buys it.</p>
<p>Maybe you&#8217;ll write a &#8220;killer&#8221; salesletter and the sales will<br /> trickle in so slowly you&#8217;ll think your website is broken.</p>
<p>Or maybe you&#8217;ll find the perfect niche and the perfect product,<br /> where others are making millions, and you won&#8217;t be able to make<br /> one red cent no matter what you do.</p>
<p>Want to know how I know this?</p>
<p><span id="more-9"></span></p>
<p>Because it happens to all of us!</p>
<p>Doesn&#8217;t matter how carefully you plan, how much research you do,<br /> or how sure you are that THIS is &#8220;the&#8221; thing for you&#8230; at some<br /> stage you are going to fail.</p>
<p>And it&#8217;s most likely to to happen more often when you&#8217;re just<br /> getting started in business. So&#8230; why waste time planning and<br /> &#8220;figuring it all out&#8221; when you&#8217;re probably going to fail anyway?</p>
<p>You may as well just try something and start failing, right?</p>
<p>I mean, if it&#8217;s going to happen anyway, why not just get it over<br /> and done with so you can get to succeeding sooner?</p>
<p>Fail fast and move on.</p>
<p>This is some of the best advice I&#8217;ve ever gotten.</p>
<p>But a lot of people have a hard time coming to terms with it.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s no wonder, we&#8217;re conditioned from a very young age &#8212; all<br /> throughout our school years &#8212; that failing is bad.</p>
<p>Better to play it safe and &#8220;pass&#8221; than risk anything for a greater<br /> glory&#8230; heaven forbid you should fail!</p>
<p>Only problem is, when it comes to being an entrepreneur this kind<br /> of thinking will cripple you.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re not prepared to fail on an almost daily basis&#8230; if<br /> you can&#8217;t stand friends and family throwing &#8220;I told you so&#8221; and<br /> stomping on your dreams every time something doesn&#8217;t work out as<br /> you planned &#8230; then maybe you&#8217;re not cut out for this life.</p>
<p>Nothing wrong with that. It&#8217;s not for everyone.</p>
<p>But if you DO want to make it as an entrepreneur then you&#8217;re going<br /> to have to come to terms with failing. The more you fail the more<br /> you succeed.</p>
<p>As Michael Jordan said:</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I&#8217;ve lost almost<br /> 300 games. 26 times, I&#8217;ve been trusted to take the game winning<br /> shot and missed. I&#8217;ve failed over and over and over again in my<br /> life. And that is why I succeed.</p>
<p>You fail &#8212; you learn &#8212; you grow. And THEN you succeed.</p>
<p>So when it comes to choosing a market, don&#8217;t over think it.</p>
<p>I gave you a list of 46 markets in <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/tlb" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='the lost blueprint';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">The Lost Blueprint</a>. Pick one.<br /> Figure it out as you go. You might fail, you might not. Either<br /> way you&#8217;ll be further ahead than the other guy still thinking<br /> about which market to go in.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t know anything about any of those markets? Here&#8217;s my super-<br /> secret system for becoming a niche expert in 7 days&#8230;</p>
<p>Read the top 3 books in the niche. Boom. Instant expert. You now<br /> know more than 99% of people in the niche. (Including most of<br /> the people marketing products!)</p>
<p>Can&#8217;t decide between different markets?</p>
<p>Here are a few more things to look for:</p>
<p>Backend potential &#8212; What else can you sell to this market after<br /> the initial sale? Preferably I want $1000+ items I can promote.<br /> (Home study courses, seminars, boot camps etc.)</p>
<p>Passion &#8212; Passionate people are emotional. People buy based<br /> on emotion. The more passionate the market, the easier it is<br /> to sell to them.</p>
<p>Affinity &#8212; Do I have any interest in the market? Am I a buyer<br /> in the market? Do I know other people in the market? All of<br /> these are optional, but they do make it easier to break into<br /> the market.</p>
<p>Not sure what you could sell to those markets?</p>
<p>Get in the niche forums and see what&#8217;s already selling.</p>
<p>Get on other peoples lists and see what they&#8217;re pushing.</p>
<p>Become a BUYER in the market.</p>
<p>It only takes a few days to get the pulse of any market.</p>
<p>Still looking for your &#8220;perfect&#8221; niche market?</p>
<p>Guess what &#8212; most people never find the &#8220;perfect&#8221; market for<br /> them &#8212; but you&#8217;d be surprised how interested you get when the<br /> money starts flowing.</p>
<p>So pick one of the broad markets I gave you. See what else is<br /> selling in the market. Get a low-risk offer online. (A short 3<br /> to 5 page report is all you need.) Drive traffic and promote<br /> affiliate products.</p>
<p>If you fail, great! Figure out why and try something else.</p>

<p>Write down all the traffic sources you&#8217;re using &#8212; PPC, articles,<br /> banner ads, press releases, text links, ezine ads, viral reports,<br /> forum signatures, affiliates, joint ventures. Anything &#8220;out<br /> there&#8221; actively driving traffic to your offers.</p>
<p>Now&#8230; what have you done this month, this week, today, to&#8230;<br /> produce offers, get traffic, get affiliates, secure joint venture<br /> partners, and improve your conversions?</p>
<p>How did you go?</p>
<p>The sad truth is most people don&#8217;t have a single offer out there.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re not actively driving traffic in any consistent manner.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re not taking action every single day to improve their business.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re not in the game.</p>

<p>However, make no mistake &#8212; it is a skill, it can be learned,<br /> and you&#8217;ll actually find it easy if you have a SYSTEM.</p>
<p>No matter how unfocused and unproductive you are now, you&#8217;ll be<br /> shocked at how much you can achieve when you&#8217;ve got a system<br /> with simple action steps you can follow.</p>
<p>This week I&#8217;m going to outline the action steps you need to take<br /> to setup systems for your Internet marketing business.</p>
<p>There is a reason I&#8217;m doing this in the very first issue of<br /> Four Hour Entrepreneur &#8212; because it&#8217;s the single most important<br /> thing you can do to ensure your success!</p>
<p>Nothing is more important than knowing what you&#8217;re going to do,<br /> when you&#8217;re going to do it, and how it&#8217;s going to get done.</p>
<p>Here are your action steps:</p>
<p><strong>1. SET YOUR OUTCOME</strong></p>
<p>What do you want to do?</p>
<p>This should be blindingly obvious but you&#8217;d be surprised how<br /> many people have no idea what they actually want. How can you<br /> ever hope to hit a target if you don&#8217;t know what you&#8217;re aiming<br /> for?</p>
<p>What niche are you going into? How much money do you want to<br /> make? How long do you want to work each day? What skills do<br /> you need to learn? What tasks are you going to do, and which<br /> will you outsource?</p>
<p>Write this stuff down! Make a commitment and stick to it.</p>
<p>Use the blueprint I show you in <a href="http://www.fourhourentrepreneur.com/blog/go/tlb" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='the lost blueprint';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">The Lost Blueprint</a> to see how<br /> to structure everything and the order in which you should<br /> develop each part of your business.</p>
<p>Remember: Step 1 in the blueprint is to develop a low-risk offer<br /> and start driving traffic to it. That&#8217;s it!</p>
<p><strong>2. SCHEDULE YOUR WEEKLY TASKS</strong></p>
<p>What do you need to do?</p>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve decided what you want to do, now you&#8217;ve got to break<br /> the big goal down into manageable chunks and schedule time each<br /> week to work on them.</p>
<p>For example, my weekly tasks include things such as writing copy,<br /> writing emails, developing info products, testing offers,<br /> generating traffic, networking, recruiting affiliates, and<br /> strategic planning.</p>
<p>You can imagine how easy it is to let any one of these activities<br /> slide for days or even weeks if you don&#8217;t have a schedule<br /> reminding you exactly what needs to be done when.</p>
<p>Your task list may be longer or shorter, but the important thing<br /> is each day you are making small efforts on key tasks. And each<br /> week you are making progress towards your desired outcome.</p>
<p><strong>3. SYSTEMIZE YOUR DAILY ACTIVITIES</strong></p>
<p>Knowing exactly what you need to do each day certainly helps<br /> productivity, and many people find just having a daily task<br /> list keeps them &#8220;honest&#8221; and they get a lot more done each day.</p>
<p>However, if you want to make real productivity breakthroughs you<br /> not only need to know what to do, you need to know HOW to do it.</p>
<p>This is where processes and procedures come into play.</p>
<p>By breaking your tasks down into simple action steps &#8212; or<br /> procedures &#8212; you simplify their execution, ensure you get<br /> consistent results, and greatly simplify outsourcing.</p>
<p>Having a task laid out in step-by-step format also lets you<br /> quickly spot inefficiencies and bottlenecks so you can improve<br /> the steps and get things done faster or easier in the future.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve got mind maps as well as simple text files (depending on<br /> the complexity of the task) where I outline processes for<br /> everything from writing a salesletter, to creating a report,<br /> setting up an Adwords campaign, writing an email&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230; anything I do regularly in my business.</p>
<p>Next time you sit down to do something in your business, ask<br /> yourself if you&#8217;ll ever have to do this again. If so, take a<br /> few minutes to write down the steps you take as you&#8217;re doing<br /> them.</p>
<p>The time and frustration it saves you in the future will<br /> dramatically improve your efficiency and bottom line results.</p>
<p><strong>4. SUCCESS MAXIMIZERS</strong></p>
<p>A few last minute tips to help you get more done faster:</p>
<p>Separate learning time and action time &#8212; set a day or time aside<br /> for learning and figure out what you need to know to complete<br /> your tasks BEFORE it&#8217;s action time. Once you&#8217;re working you<br /> just want to crank through tasks and not have to lookup &#8220;how to&#8221;<br /> information. (This is one of the key drivers of impulse buying,<br /> so you&#8217;ll save yourself a few bucks as well.)</p>
<p>Trust, but verify &#8212; in your business you are the boss and no<br /> one else will tell you what you should be doing. That means<br /> you&#8217;ve got to manage yourself. In the corporate world we used<br /> the mantra, &#8220;trust, but verify&#8221;, which basically means you<br /> leave people up to their own devices but monitor that they&#8217;re<br /> doing what they are supposed to.</p>
<p>I use rescuetime.com to verify I&#8217;m hitting my productivity<br /> targets and not slacking off too much. You can &#8220;tag&#8221; websites<br /> and applications to categorize them, and mark them from -2 to<br /> +2 in terms of productivity. So forums might be tagged as -1,<br /> while the text editor you write copy in is +2. It&#8217;s not a<br /> perfect system but it gives you a good idea of what you&#8217;re up to<br /> and how productive you are.</p>
<p>I also use a Firefox plugin, Leechblock, which stops me from<br /> being able to visit certain websites at certain times of the day.<br /> You can block out forums, email, blogs and news sites etc during<br /> your peak productivity periods to ensure you stay focused.</p>
<p>Finally, there are a few well-known marketers whose online<br /> personas are basically &#8220;lazy surfer dudes who slack off, do<br /> no work, and money just falls from the sky&#8221;. You know who I&#8217;m<br /> talking about.</p>
<p>Be aware these are PERSONAS &#8212; they&#8217;re designed to attract<br /> and appeal to people who want to make money online, because hey,<br /> we all want to slack off and make money, right?</p>
<p>Make no mistake, these guys work their tails off. If you pay<br /> attention you&#8217;ll notice they&#8217;ve even let the cat out of the bag<br /> a few times and admit to how much work they do, but it&#8217;s<br /> always overshadowed by their &#8220;lazy&#8221; personas.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t be sucked in by the next &#8220;get rich quick&#8221; thing just<br /> because it looks easy, at the end of the day there is ALWAYS<br /> work involved.</p>
<p><strong>THE MOST IMPORTANT FHE ISSUE EVER</strong></p>
<p>I&#8217;m serious about how important systems, processes and procedures<br /> are to your business &#8212; there&#8217;s a reason multi-billion dollar<br /> companies like McDonalds and top Internet marketers like<br /> Terry Dean, swear by them&#8230; they work like gangbusters!</p>
<p>Take 15 minutes right now to complete each of the action steps<br /> in this article and I guarantee, if you follow the systems you<br /> create &#8212; and improve them as you go &#8212; you&#8217;ll become more<br /> productive and get more done in 4 hours than most people do in<br /> a week.</p>
